President-elect Donald Trump made history in Pennsylvania by winning Bucks County, marking the first time since 1988 that the county voted for a Republican presidential candidate. The Bucks County Republican Party celebrated the milestone on X, stating, “It’s official! The final numbers are in. Donald Trump has won #BucksCounty! This is the first time since 1988 that Bucks County has voted for a Republican for President! We’re immensely proud of our committee members, volunteers, and grassroots groups that all worked together to achieve this historic victory!”

A significant part of the credit for this success goes to Republican activist Scott Presler, who dedicated nearly the entire election season to working in Bucks County. His tireless efforts played a key role in securing the win.

“BREAKING: Final results show Donald J. Trump won Bucks County, Pennsylvania—the first time a Republican has won there since 1988,” said Florida Voice News Assistant Director Eric Daugherty. He continued, “Late votes were pushing Kamala Harris closer to flipping the county, but she ultimately did NOT.”

Trump’s victory in Bucks County came by a razor-thin margin of just 0.07 percentage points, or 291 votes. Trump garnered 198,722 votes (49.39%) compared to Harris’s 198,431 votes (49.32%). This shocking flip from blue to red in the traditionally Democratic county is a huge victory for Trump and a pivotal moment in the election.

Bucks County had last voted for a Republican presidential candidate in 1988 when former President George H.W. Bush won the county. This year’s victory is a testament to the strength of Trump’s campaign and the hard work of those like Presler who dedicated themselves to turning the county red.

As for the loss by Vice President Kamala Harris, some of her surrogates have pointed to President Joe Biden’s late exit from the race as a factor, but many former campaign staffers reject this notion. They argue that such thinking is “detached from reality.” Instead, they point to Harris herself, suggesting that her failure to appear authentic and connect with a broad base of voters was the true reason for her defeat.

While the race in Bucks County was extremely close, with Harris making significant strides with late votes, Trump ultimately held onto his lead. The narrow victory in Bucks County is part of a larger trend that continues to shape the narrative of the 2020 presidential election. For the first time in three decades, Trump’s historic win in this key county serves as a testament to his appeal and the power of grassroots campaigning.
